Fish in a Tree is a masterpiece. In the world of contemporary reading, it is becoming increasingly harder to find a heartfelt, soul- stirring novel. This book has broken down that barrier and created something beautiful. Step into the world of Ally Nickerson. One of the most memorable characters ever, she is the vocal point for this wonderful coming-of-age story. Told in the first-person, Ally had lived her life weighed down and defeated, all because she couldn’t read. Yet incredible smarts and character lie deep beneath the surface. Join Ally as she discovers the extreme potential buried inside of her. Who knows, maybe you’ll discover something inside of you, too.

One for the Murphys – Lynda Mullaly Hunt
August 2022
Where do I begin? This book is phenomenal! Lynda Mullaly Hunt does a masterful job of placing you in the characters’ shoes. Carly Connors has given me an insight into the life of a foster kid. After reading this book, I understand a little more of what Carly and kids like her go through and how strong they have to become. I am filled with compassion and respect. I have read this book countless times. Each time, Carly teaches me something new. You’ve read my review, now go meet Carly for yourself!

The Vanderbeeker Series – Karina Yan Glaser
July 2022
This series radiates with hope and joy. It chronicles the Vanderbeeker siblings’ (ages 6 to 14) many adventures. I have found enjoyment and relaxation in reading this series. It is like a breath of fresh air. The beauty of family is portrayed wonderfully in this series. The way the Vanderbeekers deal with hardship is powerful. They rally back and rely on each other for support and encouragement. This series is a must-read!
